An Outdoor Aquarium

This is my beautiful Pond!     Here is an updated spring picture.  It holds a little under 1000 gallons of water and currently has about 7 fish in it.  It also is home to many toads and several leopard frogs.  To me, the pond is simply an outdoor aquarium where I can keep more pets.

Over the years, I had never really given any serious consideration to getting a pond.  I figured the battle against the pet quota wasn't worth the effort, my strategy was to save my strength for battles over furry animals.  However, one fortunate day during a casual conversation...it became obvious to me that my husband didn't consider ponds to be pets.  To him, it is landscaping!  You can imagine my joy at making this discovery.  Before the week was out, I had sent my deposit to Hill Country Water Gardens and within two weeks, I had a fully functional and beautiful pond.  What is cool about my pond is the river flowing to the water fall. We had them extend it out a bit further than normal so that we have a real raging river in the middle of our backyard.   Within the first three days of completion, a bunch of toads quickly set up shop with their croaking and carrying on.  Soon enough, tadpoles were to be seen.  Here is a typical fish picture featuring "fuzzy fish".  Recently a Blue Heron decided to go fishing in my pond. I only lost 2 or 3 before he decided to move on the bigger things, however, and with the coming of spring, the pond is looking glorious again indeed.
