Editor's note: Lily's human is an exceptional woman who I once had the pleasure of working for. She is learning the joys of pet ownership a bit late in life (comparatively speaking) but it is never too late to learn!
Miss Lily Barrs was born on Nov 4, 2002 in Caldwell, Texas. She is a West Highland White Terrier (a.k.a., "Westie")....and we all know, that "Terrier" means "trouble"!
When she first came home, got her she
weighed 3.2 pounds and today she weighs 8.9 pounds. She loves pig ears and
string cheese, which make very effective....er, well.
..sort
of effective training aids. Currently she is working on sit and lay down.
Looks like she has got the "lay down" going pretty well. She has a little
stuffed animal that looks like her with a red Santa hat, which is the one she
sleeps with. Her favorite activity is digging....a mark of a true Terrier!
She loves to carry the left over pig ear out in the yard, she digs a small hole,
puts the pig ear in it, and then covers it up using her nose. Then she has
fun finding it and putting it somewhere else. After a while she forgets
where the last resting place is and she
gets really excited when she finally finds it.
Now that sounds like REAL fun. Everyone say hello to Lily!
