Dear Diary

Well, the end of the school year has come and gone and we are in the beginning of summer.  David graduated from eighth grade and will be moving on the high school. Sigh....I am getting so old.  They had a graduation ceremony at the school and made a big fanfare out of it so of course we went to watch David receive his honors.  He made the honor role and something about the President's award of merit list....so I guess all that studying he didn't do really paid off.  Anyway, the ceremony was as good as it could be and then we went home and of course, he then disappeared only to resurface two weeks later when we took him to camp.

Victoria went to Camp Buckner again this year and had a great time. She even managed to make it home with all her laundry.  She spent the next week with a variety of friends and soon both of them will be going to Camp Dave and Nana for the next month.  They will return shortly before the trip to San Antonio for the dog show there.

Other than that, not much has been going on. Of course World Cup Soccer is on 24 hours a day non-stop. I sure am glad this is only a once-every-4-years-kind-of-deal.

My dad is walking across Mexico for his summer vacation, and mom is at pottery camp in the hill country.

I have been practicing "wrapping" Shine's hair...wrapping is something you do to the mane of show poodles to help protect the hair from every day rough-housing and hopefully prevent matting.  She is starting to mat up in places so I am thinking her adult coat is beginning to come in.  Whatever it is, her grooming ritual takes me many hours per week...about 3 on the weekend when I do a full groom and about 30 min-1  hr every other evening for brushing out and mat detection.  When she gets into her adult trim the work should be a little less as she will be naked on part of her body, but her mane will get longer and longer......

Well, that is it. Enjoy the pics!  Picture Gallery
