Dear Diary
Let's see where to start....OK where we left off.....at the end of September
Shine had a show in Fort Worth. We stayed with my brother and his wife,
Catherine, in their beautiful new home. My brother is kind of an
old, big kid and loves to play video games...so the kids happily sat for hours
on end playing these games with Dwayne and Catherine
.
They have a great big nice backyard for Shine to play in and a wonderful patio
for me to sit out on and read
.
There was also a big, scary lizard that lived out on a tree that I am sure I
have seen for sale in local pet stores for more than $100...but we didn't
attempt to capture it
.
The show went well, Steve showed Shine the first day and I showed her the next.
Had a little mishap in the ring when my arm band went flying off
as I took Shine down the middle for the judge, but he laughed about it and all
was well...we didn't win though...maybe that was why. But it was fun
anyway
.
Since there was a poodle specialty show on the Friday before the all breed show
on Saturday, there were a lot of interesting local poodle owners around who I
had never seen before....there were poodles poodles everywhere.
Vic is playing tennis on her 7th grade tennis team
.
She is doing really well and in fact, is ranked the number one girl in her
school's 7th grade. This past weekend there was a big tournament with all
the Georgetown middle schools as well as kids from Belton. Vic had a
stunning performance and came in 3rd place in singles and got a nice medal to
show for it
.
The whole thing is going so well that we are about to sign up for lessons and I
am going to drag myself out onto the courts with her at least once a week to
help her even more. Now that it isn't so gosh awful hot outside I think I
can handle it. I will have to dust off my ancient tennis racket and see if
it still works...it had some holes in it as I recall, or maybe that was just the
way I was playing.
Anyway, she also has some major orthodontic appliances going on in her mouth right now as well...something called a Herbst appliance to bring her bottom jaw out, then she will get braces in the next 6 months to a year to straighten out those snaggly teeth (just kidding Vic...they aren't THAT snaggly). She should be just about perfect by the time that is over with.
Since Halloween is here, it is time once again to convert my rock garden into
a ghastly graveyard
.
It is even scarier this year than last. That is about it. We have two
weekends in a row of dog shows ahead of us, and a doggie costume-Halloween party
that we are going to try to make on the 28th. If I can get everyone into their
costume, we should have some excellent pics. Oh, be sure to check out my
new section where I am going to post picture of the dogs that I have groomed.
Maybe I shouldn't do this as I might lose business, but oh well. I have to
justify the purchase of my new digital camera somehow. TTFN
