Introducing.....

Donnchada Sugar-Coated Candyman

"Yogi"

Oh sure, he looks like a ball of fluff here, but Yogi is our second show Standard Poodle.  Yogi came to live with us "temporarily" while Shine was on the show circuit with her handler, Steve.  In fact, Shine had been gone for almost a month when Steve called "asking" (really telling) me that he needed to keep her for a couple of shows coming up where she could get the final two majors she needed for the Champion title. I was moaning and being basically unhappy about the situation when he mentions that he has this puppy (one that he and Betty Brown bred) that he really needs someone to take care of and socialize for a few weeks while he is traveling.  His strategy to distract me from the thought of Shine being gone for so long worked, and I quickly agreed to babysit.  So, "Y" (as he was called then) came to live with us. We decided to give him a proper name and he became Yogi.  We were of the mindset from the start that Yogi was NOT to become a member of our house...even though I was half heartedly looking to add a white show pup. I did NOT want a male, much less a WHITE male. But as the days went on, it became more and more obvious what a great pup little Yogi is. He came with me daily in the van for grooming, and was such a jolly fellow about it.  So, Yogi became David's dog and he sleeps with him each night....which is a good thing because there simply is no more room on ours.  I am told that many male Standards are goofy doofuses, and Yogi is no exception. He just looks like he is up to something goofy all the time. He is very loving and biddable.  One thing he started doing right from the start was laying in the stream to the pond . Of course he does this...he is white.  Many times right after a fresh grooming session he goes to lay right in the stream and then proceeds to sit in the one area in the backyard that is just a big ol' dirt pit.
