 LuLu

Editor's note:  Lulu's human is a very nice man who works at the same place I do.  I hope you enjoy learning about Lulu.

Hi I'm Lulu Lewis and I am a Japanese Chin.  Here is a picture of me and my Dad, Sam.

My breed is an old one.  We are the most calm of the toy breeds (i.e. not yappy!)  We are smart and very loving.  We like to climb?!  According to ancient documents it is assumed that the ancestors of the Chin were presented as a gift from the rulers of Korea to the Japanese court in 732.   My breed's introduction to the West occurred when Commodore Perry from the U.S. brought several Japanese Chins to the U.S.  My breed became famous, however, when two of these dogs were presented to Queen Victoria of England.  Many pictures of Queen Victoria were painted with a Japanese Chin.  I, however, was born in Taylor Texas and raised by a lady living out in the country until Sam and Deb adopted me.

The first picture of Queen Victoria looks worthy enough to go on a gin bottle, the second picture shows a Japanese Chin in the lower left corner (probably chewing on something it is not supposed to).

Queen Victoria, however, is not the only famous Brit that likes Japanese Chins!  Ozzy Osborne has two Japanese Chins living in his house (recently featured in "The Osbornes" in the "Whose poop is this?" episode).   ...I think the one on the right looks guilty!  (the one on the left looks pretty relieved though....)

My best friend is Ashley Kitty who lives outside (well mostly).  She is kind enough to let me chase her from time to time.  She likes to be licked on the top of her head (just like my dad).  My other hobbies include grabbing dish towels from the oven door, shaking them real good to make sure they are dead and then carry them into the living room.

I am a little more than a year old now, but here are a couple of my "baby pictures"...
